General InformationFormed in 1889 and situated in the north east (Coventry) side of Kenilworth, the Golf Club is famous for its friendliness and hospitality as well as having one of the great golf courses in the area.
The 18 hole scenic parkland course, at 6400 yards off the white (back) tees, and with an SSS of 71, provides good challenges for low handicap golfers without unfairly penalising or intimidating everyone else.
Testament to this, and to the excellent bar and restaurant facilities available, is the ever increasing popularity with visiting societies as well as regular requests to host major amateur competitions such as The Midlands Open and Inter County matches.
Within the club there is an active Ladies Section, a thriving Juniors Section and an Elderly Gentlemen's Golfing Society (EGGS).
In addition to providing a well stocked pro shop in terms of both golf equipment and clothes, Kenilworth has a highly respected teaching professional.
The town of Kenilworth and the surrounding area are quite famous for their historical connections, including:
The stately ruins of Kenilworth Castle - founded in 1120, during the reign of Elizabeth I. This was occupied by Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester - an alleged lover of the Queen The scattered ruins of an Augustinian Abbey A well preserved Roman Fort The town and Golf Club are both readily accessible via a network of modern roads and motorways, and are supported by a full range of fully licenced Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed & Breakfasts.
Juniors Information Kenilworth Golf Club have an enthusiastic and very active Juniors section, with representative teams participating in local leagues with great success.
Many of the juniors - both boys and girls - have also been chosen to represent Warwickshire where they have invariably performed well.
This success is due in no small way to Kenilworth’s Professional – Steve Yates – who, in addition to his efforts with Kenilworth’s own juniors is the official 'coach' to the Warwickshire girls squad.
Restaurant and Bar Facilities In the welcoming surrounding of the Clubhouse, Members and Guests can enjoy a superb range of food on offer from 11:30 most days, including sandwiches, light snacks and full meals.
A varied selection of starters, main courses and deserts is available for parties of all sizes, and the dining room can comfortably accommodate parties of up to 100 for more formal occasions.
Stephanie Major (Bar Manager) and Maryann Golding (Chef) are pleased to attend to all your wining and dining needs.
