Introduction to The Lambourne Club The Lambourne Club is set in 180 acres of breathtaking parkland with magnificent old oak and beech trees and 6 picturesque lakes. It is one of the most prestigious private clubs in the region. The clubhouse, a unique combination of understated elegance and traditional colonial style comfort, has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The clubhouse facilities are open throughout the day with a full menu available to suit all tastes along with a half-way house serving hot food and drinks to golfers mid-round. The changing rooms, located on the first floor, also have a steam room for the men and a sauna for the ladies.
The constant attention to detail and consideration of member services include a Pro-Shop which stocks many of the leading brands in golf. Advice on all aspects of your game is freely available from the Pro-Shop team which includes 2 PGA Qualified Professionals. Golf carts, trolleys and clubs are available for hire and there is a 280 yard long practice range incorporating a practice approach green, practice bunkers and a putting green. You can practice with top quality golf balls and hit from grass teeing areas.
The golf course is of championship length and standard and you will enjoy hitting to generous fairways and attacking well-protected greens. The club constantly looking to provide members with excellent playing surfaces and conditions. Due to the course being built on subsoil consisting of chalk and gravel it is rarely closed or on temporary greens and winter playing conditions are simply the best in the region. There is a fully automated irrigation system on all greens, tees and fairways.
Members at The Lambourne Club enjoy organised golf competitions to suit all levels of golfer and there is a strong "roll-up" culture providing new members with a unique opportunity to integrate the club within a short time of joining the club. The varied social calendar of events also adds to the extremely friendly and welcoming club atmosphere. 18 Hole Par 72 Championship Course - 6,771 yards The Lambourne Club provides one of the region's best golfing challenges. The par 72 course measures 6771 yards from the back tees and has 3 other sets of tees to suit all abilities. Although a strong challenge for the low handicap golfer (seven of the par 4 holes are over 400 yards!), the course is also very enjoyable for all players. It is maintained with the highest consideration for environmental issues.
Constructed on gravel, so not blighted with drainage problems, The Lambourne Club has the added bonus of its own two million gallon lake and bore hole. These irrigate not only the tees and greens but the fairways too, with the result that the course loses very few playing days each year.
